For this review I went with just over 200ml of semi skimmed milk and as I mentioned before it's not that bad with water but it doesn't compare to how it tastes with milk. Shake was made with a blender ball.

The powder itself has little bits of "cookie" in it as you can see below:

Combat Powder is pretty frothy / foamy once you've finished mixing it. Takes a while to settle and as you can see above it has those little black "cookie" bits in it. The texture is actually really smooth considering these little bits. Didn't have any trouble with clumping.

It's sweet. REALLY sweet. This is not a bad thing for me because I usually use protein shakes as flavouring for oats so having that sweetness there is always a bonus. Has a really strong icing sugar flavour. All in all it gets a thumbs up from me in terms of taste! So to summarise; Muscle Pharm Combat Powder has a very good protein to calorie ratio, mixes well and tastes good. Price wise, like most "premium" brands you're going to be paying over the odds compared to a bulk supplier of protein so really, you would have to love the taste for it to swing your decision. Factor in the potential "amino spiking" and you may also be paying even more over the odds for cheap added aminos. It tastes good enough for me to say I would happily buy a tub IF it was on offer but that's mainly down to the fact that I tend to just use bulk whey and I don't like paying for the packaging, marketing etc.
