Ok so John also asked two more questions in his email but I didn't want to make a 10+ minute video so I have broken it into two.
Second, he asked:
"The Slingshot....Worth the 45 ? I train on my own so for safety it looks like a good punt."
Fellow YouTuber MrMeanley sent me his old red Slingshot as he had upgraded to the Maddog. So although I didn't buy one, I definitely would. I have been using it as a way of doing more work whilst remove the risk of further injury. I have only really had one session where I have "maxed out" and even then I feel I would have been able to do a lot more, if my shoulder hadn't still being injured.
Would I recommend it? Absolutely. For just it's aid with my injury over the past couple months it is more than worth it. I will find out this year how it helps with developing maximal strength.
Third he asked:
"Elbow sleeves. Worth it as I suffer with tendonitus in both elbows and it flares up with heavy Rows & Presses. If so. Ive a strength shop belt & knee sleeves, so will prob get some of theirs."
As mentioned in the video, I'm not a physio, but I know someone who is (well... almost) so I will quickly link you his channel:
Alvs Mondares - http://www.youtube.com/user/alvsalvs
So my advice would be to try to develop your grip / forearm muscles, try training in compression shirts and thermal shirts to increase warmth on the problem areas.
You should always try to discover the cause of the problem rather than mask it with equipment. You may need some soft tissue work done by a physio. That being said if you do get some elbow sleeves and they allow you to keep training whilst you try to fix your problem, then you're on to a winner.
Thanks for watching!
