Are Upstairs Home Gyms Ok?

Had a fair few instances since making the channel where people would ask if it's ok to have a Home Gym upstairs in say a bedroom or spare room.
The most important question that people want to know is if their floor / ceiling is going to be able to support all this additional weight. Without knowing for sure what the actual specs for your house are, no one can really say yes or no.
One way you can test it out is by getting a whole load of weight on one spot in the room you wish to use. Get your friends and family round, get them all to stand close. You should be confident in thinking that you aren't all going to plummet to your doom.
However you have to consider that when you're lifting, the load is getting transferred through a very small surface area: your feet. You can spread this out by using thick plywood boards.
All that said, I know of several people that I have seen on YouTube and on social media groups that have home gyms in their bedrooms and don't have any issues.
My biggest issue I think would be what the constant banging and crashing would do to plastering / ceiling rendering over time. Not to mention, if you live with parents or in a shared flat they will get annoyed very quickly!
