Getting Back on Track After Injury

So I got this question from a YouTuber recently, it resonated with me because it's exactly the same thing I went through:
"Thanks for sharing your transformation. I trained really hard in 2013 and got my body fat down and dropped 2 stone to 12st (I'm 6ft) I was making progress then I got injured in December 2013 - I started drinking too much and my diet got really bad - I'm now 14st and have lost a lot of muscle. I am going to quit drinking and focus really hard in 2015. Could you give me some tips on staying focused on nutrition - I really want to achieve my goal within 2 years - thanks for any help you can offer "
Now like I say, this made me think about myself and how last year I ended up the Mayor of Snap City. Not only did I have a lower body injury, I also had a shoulder injury that prevented upper body training. Basically I couldn't train properly at all!
I had gotten myself in the best shape of my life, was very lean and looked great. Not being able to train made me depressed and I ended up resorting back to my old comfort ways of eating and drinking excessively. Before long I had ballooned back up to the high 190's from the low 170's.
I could have just called it a day after the months and months of pain I had, losing sleep due to back pains and shoulder spasms. I really love strength training and powerlifting so I couldn't just give up.
If you want to make something happen you have to just get on with it and get it done. No one else can do it for you. Money can't fix it. The body is something you have to work hard for to build.
You've already done it once and believe me, getting back to where you was from an injury will greatly build your resolve and make you a stronger person. Thanks for watching!
