ON Platinum Pre- Supplement Review

Ok so Pre Workout Supplement Review time. In this video I give Optimum Nutrition Platinum Pre- / Pre Minus a try..

I was excited to try this one as I had picked up a few packets from the Olympia Expo. Each Fruit Punch flavoured packet is a two serving dose so this time I went for their "extreme" dose which was the full two servings. They call it extreme because you are getting a massive 400mg of Caffeine!! So obviously, 200mg per single dose, which is still plenty for most people.

Alongside that caffeine, you are getting (per single dose) 2g of L-Citrulline, 1.6g of Beta Alanine along with DMAE and some extracts.

Now for the dodgy part. There's 250mg of Capsimax in each serving... this ain't really a problem in capsule products... it goes straight down and all is forgotten. As this is a drink though.. it can burn your throat. I can handle heat, this gave me a mild burn. If you can't handle hot food... this might be a problem for you.

Verdict:

Energy: 10/10 Focus: 8/10

Overall: 9/10

For me, this was a good product. Platinum Pre- (Pre Minus - dunno what ya call it) gave me good solid energy throughout my full workout and it really did help to elevate my mood, the first pre workout in a while to do that. It gave a half decent pump but does not market itself as a pump product.

It tastes not very nice and it does not mix the best. This may be because of the Capsimax altering the taste.

Only REAL downside / side effect to the product is the burning sensation it can have due to the capsicin content. Other than that, it's pretty legit.

I'd give Optimum Nutrition Pre- a go if you ever get chance to but be warned if you are not very tolerant to caffeine... there is a lot in it.
